She is a proud alumna of Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana where she studied Mass Communications, Public Relations. Ms. Smith is currently Black to the Future's Academic Support serving African American at-risk youth in the San Francisco Unified School District. It is her passion to not only provide that one on one support with work in the classroom but to provide love and consistency to those students who don't receive that within their families. Being able to help these students overcome many barriers that hinder their education, brings so much joy and fulfillment to Ms. Smith. She strongly believes that it takes a village to raise a child. Meaning it takes an entire community of people interacting with a child in positive ways for that child to experience and grow in a safe environment.
